#23: No Coincidences

Good morning, and Happy Sunday!

Have you ever noticed that people or things come into your life right when you need them? Maybe you meet a new friend who you just know is a keeper, or an old friend you haven’t seen in years re-enters your life… or you get a bonus on your paycheck that you weren’t expecting? Perhaps you’re thinking, “Ummm, no; that never happens to me.” Well, I used to be in that spot too… and then I discovered the truth. Don’t get me wrong, I still face plenty of challenges too, just like everyone else; but, it is how you approach those challenges that determines what happens next. Life is awesome, but it’s not all peaches and cream, it’s not supposed to be; if it were, how could you possibly be grateful when those little delicacies of life happen by? Without that gratitude, more delicacies would not come, would they?

Here’s the trick: you have to get un-stuck from the cyclic ways of stress, anxiety, and fear. Yes, it’s MUCH easier said than done; but, if you exist on that hamster wheel of negativity, worrying, and complaints - you will not notice these not-so-coincidental people/things/moments that life has to offer. They may not even come to pass. See, the whole of energy responds to the nature of positivity. It’s no coincidence that positive people tend to reap the benefits of those “random” wins… but, it takes effort. You have to choose to see the good that exists; you have to believe it and appreciate it.

Here’s a simple example (I think most of us can relate to this one!): if you constantly look in the mirror and tell yourself, “I need to lose 10 pounds,” and you are eating well and exercising, but the weight isn’t coming off… try this instead… look in the mirror and tell yourself, “I am awesome and look amazing, and I am glad to be taking care of my health by eating well and exercising.” You will start to see changes. Your body hears what you tell it, so tell it something good, and it will believe you. The same concept applies to all of life. Tell yourself you’re broke, and you will remain broke. Tell yourself you are grateful for the blessings in your life, and more will appear. When you make positive recognition and gratitude not just a habit, but a way of being, you will start to notice those not-so-coincidental moments. Try it! It’s so much fun to see what unfolds!

This week, I continue to be blessed by the people in my life: I have a couple of new friends who are so amazing, and I get to see an old friend this week whom I haven’t seen in about a decade! I also chose to put positive energy and faith toward a specific person in my realm, and that person has recently proven me right. There are a couple of other gems that have occurred as of late, but enough about MY blessings, share YOURS below!!!
